Smokers Apron

72.57

Fire retardant to EN ISO 11611 2007, Para 6.7 and EN ISO 11612 2008, Para 6.3, and uniquely designed to stop dropped cigarettes from rolling off onto the furniture or floor. The aprons are labelled to show care instructions and the Standard numbers, and a copy of the test certificate from the producer is available on request to fire services, care homes and individuals. The apron will give the smoker or carer time to pick up a dropped light safely, and properly used will prevent dropped lights from causing burns to clothing and skin.

This apron is made from a quality Fire Retardant Proban treated cotton fabric tested to EU standard ISO11611 2007 and EN ISO11612 2008. The fabric will not flare or melt and will protect clothing from dropped lights. In the event of a lit cigarette or match being dropped the wearer should not permit it to lie on the apron for longer than a few seconds, which is adequate time to pick it up without causing damage.

The apron comes up to throat level and when put on properly this will stop dropped lights from going down between apron and wearer. But the most ingenious part of the design is the wired upstand which surrounds the lap of the apron and catches the dropped lit cigarettes or matches, so that they do not roll as described above.

The unique design has an adjustable wired upstand which catches dropped cigarettes within arm’s reach so that they can be picked up before damage is caused. Permitting a lit match or cigarette to lie on the apron for a prolonged length of time will damage the apron, as will the deliberate pressing of a lit cigarette against the fabric to test it.

The fabric is a high-quality fire-retardant material and performs exceptionally well under normal use. Under no circumstances will the manufacturer or the supplier be responsible for damage caused, either deliberately or by misuse.

Care instructions: The apron may be hand washed using a reputable clothing detergent, wrung well and hung to drip dry. Soap products must not be used as this will remove the fire-retardant qualities. It may then be ironed. Trying to machine wash or spin dry the apron may damage the wiring which supports the upstand.
